Areteem's head coach, Dr. Kevin Wang, reviews some hard problems that students should be familiar with before participating in State level MathCounts competitions. Using past real tests, Dr. Wang covers problem solving strategies and time management tips to help students succeed and to prepare for a better competition experience.
MATHCOUNTS is a club for students who enjoy solving challenging math problems for fun both individually and with a team. The club meets on Day 5 during 8th period in room 20. Students may compete in the annual MATHCOUNTS competition in early February. Mrs. Tridico is the club sponsor.

MathCounts is a national organization which holds competitions in algebra, geometry, and problem solving. At the first meeting, students will try out to make Milton Somers Middle School's team. Students will be encouraged to try out and join practices even if they do not make the team.
Does anyone know how to solve something similar to this: “ 72 people out of 100 say there are 47 truth-tellers and 53 liars. The other 28 say there are 28 truth-tellers and 72 liars. How many liars are there?” There was a problem like this in MATHCOUNTS State this year for the competitions before they shut state comps down.
